Are there any situations that would call for the Burt over a suick. Everytime I reach for this type of bait I almost always go for the suick. I don't know if its because the flash on the tail or it's popularity gives me more confidece or what. What do you prefer and are there special situations the burt will out-preform a suick??? thanks

Personal preference or whatever the fish want will dictate what I tie on and quite frankly I fish more Burts than I do Suick's these days.

One difference is that a properly tuned Burt will give you a down and to the side action that even a "tricked out" Suick can't.

Secondly I prefer the plastic bait and shape of the Burt for hook up percentages.

And of course I've never seen a "Squirrly" Suick....

Also the weighted Burts out of the box will run deeper than a weighted Suick will, for those times when you need to get down to the fish. Not everyone likes to modify their baits or knows how so the weighted Burt is a good out-of-the-box deeper running jerk bait.

Both are great baits and have their place and time...but most of the time over the past few years I've been throwing Burts with great success.

Ive had very good luck in the past with weighted burts just giving them a hard jerk-pause-then two baby taps-pause and repeat back to boat,,Burts are one of the best hooking % baits made,,need to get back into the habit of throwing them more

I probably just need a little more confidence when I trow them. I've had success with suicks so I get stuck in the habit of throwing them when I throw a jerk. Thanks for the insight. I appreciate the helpful people on this site.
