| Just curious if anyone throws a #8 french for early season. I'm building some spring bucktail and wondering if that big of a blade is effective on a 5-6" lure. |

Two years ago we stumbled upon a hot bite in the east metro where the we were throwing modified Mepps Magnum Musky Killers in the shallows and it was awesome.
Not a ton of luck in early spring though.

Location: Detroit River | My very first legal size musky was caught on my homemade bucktail with a #8 French blade (.032"). I had made 5 bucktails the night before & told myself that was all I was going to be throwing that day & less than an hour in I landed a 48". It was the 3rd week of July when I caught it. Actually for 2 years straight me & a couple of my buddies did very good using bucktails with #8 French blades on LSC. Haven't thrown them much since then. |

| That bait will work spring through early fall. Especially on pressured water where double 10's are zinging past the fish all day and night.
