 | With all the big muskies being caught I forgot about the fish from the French river caught by Art Barefoot weighing 59-11, I'm curious why this fish was not eligible for the modern day record. I know originally a fish had to weigh 60lbs to qualify but that was rolled back since so much time had gone by without a fish that large being entered for consideration. I don't remember why the Barefoot fish was passed by in favor of the Seeberger fish.
 Can somebody fill me in.....

 | fins355: Simply put, Barefoot's fish could not fulfill all of our rules. Remember, one of our Committee or a designated representative MUST be present before the fish is cut open (and re-weigh it prior to that happening).

 | Thanks Larry..... I may have forgotten the sequence of events...but weren't you there to reweigh the fish before it was opened?

 | No, not the Barefoot fish, although I did visit Art and the fish after it was caught and weighed. I did reweigh the current Modern Day before it was opened. |
