Posts: 670 Location: mercer wi | Yea there is. But how are they holding up to use n abuse. Same with beast. I'd like to hear info on these reels. Love to hear how they treat your hand. Those with hand issues know what I'm sayn. How they compare to calcutta ds. Let's hear some input. Love my lexa 400 but holding hand is shot after 4 hours of holding a reel

Posts: 32926 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Not sure what you are doing. Search worked fine for me. The advice was good, by the way. http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/search/query.asp?fid=0&action... http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/search/query.asp?fid=0&action...

Posts: 1660 Location: central Wisconsin | EsoxHawk - 11/27/2015 5:22 PM thanks for the great tip to do a search - (I did with no luck) Funny guy Click on search, punch in revo toro, make the search for one year, remove the seach for all the forums and focus it on the tackle and equipment forum only. Let me know if you need more direction and I could post you a link I guess. N/M Steve beat me to it.

Posts: 670 Location: mercer wi | All the previous posts were what the reel is n what it's suppose to do. Would like to hear what it is doing. How it performs compared to other reels.

Posts: 32926 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You said that, and I answered. Mine have been solid for over a year. What else you need to know, anything specific? I like the build a lot, comfortable to hold, easy to cast and retrieve, smooth and casts well. Only issue was a squeak I found to be a dryish bearing a few weeks into testing, 1 drop of oil and it hasn't returned.

Posts: 670 Location: mercer wi | How does it compare to calcutta d, lexa, tranx, te and any other reel people have had experience with. Ease of crankin. Is it less fatiguing on your hand then other reels. I guess " I like mine" should answer all questions. Would like to hear more about performance then specs on this reel now it's been out for awhile n people are using them. We all know we're you stand with abu sir. Thanks for your time everyone.

Posts: 32926 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Hey, I use and like Okuma, Shimano, and Daiwa reels too, have said that repeatedly, and like them fine. I REALLY like the Toro S, especially matched with either a Legend Elite palming grip or Veritas palming slit grip rod. Do I like it 'better' than the D, or Okuma Komodo 364, or ..whatever? I use those reels for specific applications, like them and use them regularly, so define 'better'. I used my C3's last time out. They don't freeze up easily. Just got several reels back from service of the brands mentioned, ready to rock for next season. My Okuma Akeenas are still like glass, nice reels for the $. The rest of what you seem to want to know is highly subjective, and will get you a dozen different answers for a dozen different folks, I'd wager.

Posts: 670 Location: mercer wi | You asked if I was lookin for specifics about the reel. So I answered. When I asked opinions all you said is mine solid. We all know you love abu reels. You've been talking them up for a year now. I just have couple questions before in invest money in these reels. I don't know why your getting all bent for askin questions bout this reel steve n expecting OTHER people opinions on this thread. I've heard yours n look forward for others to weight in on these reels. Thanks Dave

Posts: 32926 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | And I bet you will. How many of those folks do you suppose will be able to answer from over a year's experience? I really like the S and told you exactly why. Everyone I have talked to who owns one says pretty much the same thing.

Posts: 670 Location: mercer wi | I see you added a bunch from original reply. I understand it's subjective. Everything on here is. But opinions are great to hear. That's why we come here right. They all pull baits diffrent. They all sit diffrent on rods. Just want to here what people are thinkin. O by the way. Want the best combo to throw cowgirls ![]()

Posts: 4269 Location: Ashland WI | I really like mine. Very easy to crank and my hands don't hurt at the end of a day of casting.

Posts: 1023 | I liked the feel in the store. Does the power handle on the 60 size ever engage the reel on the cast. That was my only concern. It will be my next reel I think.

Posts: 99 Location: West Virginia | How does the thumb bar of the new ones compare to the NACL? I was not a fan of the NACL thumb bar but loved everything else about it.

Posts: 778 | Today's musky fishermen have got it made. I'm an Abu guy, but reels by Shimano, Daiwa, and Okuma are all superior to what some of us "older" guys started off with. Could you imagine all the whining if guys had to use 6ft jaw breaker broomstick rods, a 6500 round reel, and 36lb. Cortland Musky Master? Kdawg

Posts: 1283 | Much more comfortable then the Tranx, Lexa 400 and NACLs. Takes a second to get used to the height coming from a NACL but much better once you get used to them. Thumb bar is like butter and they out cast all the previously mentioned reels. Cranking power is great even on the HS Beast with the weighted power handle on tossing 9s and 10s all day but easier with the 4.9 and S. I had one beast that was bad out of the box, but they sent me a new one within a couple days. Now I have over 100 hours between the 3 and have had 0 issues other wise. The S is great but if you can swing it I suggest upgrading to the beast, it has better braking better drag and is a bit smoother and casts a bit farther. I did try the jigging handle and it makes pulling in 10s a breeze but it did engage once when I wasnt paying attention so I put on the weighted handle on and have not had any issues.
