I actually went to the meeting from Vermilion and was really surprised at how many Muskie People showed up.. Great job Guys !
The opposition seemed discombobulated at the way the DNR and the facts were in favor of the muskie community....
It seemed that the "Lake Association "
were trying to say that they owned the area lakes and that they should dictate what happens to "Their" Lakes... Thank God that the
DNR stuck up for the Biology and Science of their studies of these bodies of water.
We did make a difference this time.
I also must say Shame on the State Rep. that said, when he opened the Meeting..." I Hate Muskies"
This kind of closed minded person should be replaced the next election.

He was actually addressing comments that have been made about him via emails and phone calls.

I'm not sure he's exactly pro musky, but I did hear in the crowd that he was pretty neutral on this topic.

Be interesting to see how it goes in court. Requesting an injunction to stop stocking is an interesting approach. I think the court date is 11/20.

I love this claim that people won't use the waters for fear of being attacked by muskies. I'm pretty sure every lake that's stocked with muskies in the metro area has 1 or more beaches, they are always packed during the summer, and I don't recall stories about how people are getting attacked each summer...

All you have to do is go to big island on tonka any day during the summer to see that statement is false.

I believe most hearings are conducted in the court room which is open to the public. A call to the clerk of courts in that county would probably give you the scheduled time of the hearing.

That I'm not sure on. I was out of the office in meetings and didn't know they were going in.

I put in pelican on 11-9-15 and while idling away I looked over the side and saw a couple nice 12" spotted muskies. Good to see
