Posts: 1660 Location: central Wisconsin | Low profile 400 sized baitcaster? You would think they would want to compete with Abu and Diawa for those people that prefer that style.

Posts: 537 Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | I don't get it either. I don't buy the "Muskie fishing is such a small percentage of what they sell" argument. Money is money. Make a 400 size tranx and it would be flying off the shelves.

Shimano Rep however said "something" was in the works and people have been asking for bigger curados/smaller tranx for the last few years. So not sure exactly which it will be. But its an obvious hole in the Shimano lineup and the Lexa 400 has been a huge success. When Daiwa is adding models (ie new Lexa 400 HD) and Shimano has nothing in that size it isn't too hard to figure out that when people ask for it and Shimano says "something is in the works" we can put 2 + 2 together.

Naw, Abu is core freshwater and frankly, a Tranx (500 size) is a little ridiculous for fresh. I hope the Toro-S and Beast do well enough we can get a 400 sized beast eventually.

What size and rating for a musky rod equates to being ridiculous for fresh water in your opinion?

Posts: 1100 | A 400D with, the line guide ½ inch further away from the spool, and then with the tranx HG gears and brake would rock my fishing world :D
