Hello all,
My dilemma is the following: I am fishing on Saturday morning, I would like to fish the toilet bowl from 5am -10am, however the reports sound like it has been a zoo and from past experience, serious waterskiers are out at 7am.

My friend wants to fish Silver as he had a "follow" a few weeks ago and there is "no wake" until 10am.

I think the Toilet Bowl is better because of more options, more fish etc.

What do you guys think?

Thanks Man!

Rob

Silver lake is tough in the summer, if you do fish it work small deep divers outside the steep drops in 16 to 25 feet. Good luck

Ok, I have to ask. What is the toilet bowl? The Fox Chain in IL comes to mind.

Yes, the Toilet Bowl if the Fox Chain, it was named that by ToddM or Dhaeeb I think?

Thanks, Dave for the deep weed edge suggestion.

Let's make the fox chain sound a little more classy "Le Bowl De Toilet". I have not heard much about Silver lately. I know good spring/fall but don't know much in the summer. Fox Chain has been a bit of a Zoo but bearable until 10-11 in the morning.

If you hit the Chain I will be out Saturday from around 5-10 in a Black/White Crestliner with a 90 Honda. Stop by and say high we can compare notes.

Actually I think Slamr initially called it the toilet bowl.

Thanks Dave, if we are there we will be in a White tuffy esox magnum with 60hp johnson, it is Phil gutman old boat if you know him? Silver is slow every time I go there, but it is not my boat.

I fish both and I hate both in the summer. Chain fishing is hard, with few fish opportunities, and great chances to be run over by pleasure boaters. The water is nasty bloomy and the weeds are high and slimey.
Silver fishing is hard in the summer, I can't seem to attract fish attention to save my life during the summer on Silver. BUT, I do like it because until 10AM the water cop is chasing down the few morons who break the no wake laws. Its peaceful, you dont have to go anywhere to be on good "looking" spots but the fishing has blown ass the last year and a half out there.
I was faced with the same dilema last Sunday.....decided to leave an hour earlier and head to Oconomowoc. Missed a mid-30s and pops saw a 45-48" basking in the sun over deep water, and i poked a MONSTER of a pike (18") on a bucktail. Drive was easy on the way up though we got lost finding the ramp and traffic sucked on the way back. Best part was the lake was pretty light on the idiot traffic and I didnt see my first Jetski til about 11AM.
My advice? Call SWorrall and see what he'd want for you to stay at his place in Rhinelander for the weekend.

Last time I was on webster was about 2 months ago, weeds were up, then i heard another kill was done. Went and did Tippy/James/Barbee a about a month ago, fishing sucked, and instead of the usual 3 hours to get home, it took almost 5.5 hours. I hate my muskie fishing addiction some times.

Luke Chinewalker or Mehabeeb came up with the toilet bowl. My term of endearment is the algae pit. I have not fished it in two years and catching more muskies because I am not spending my time on it. I like fishing it, just don't like the slow summer and catching a 30" fish here and a 32" fish there.

That being said, I bet you know what my vote is to fish.
