| A buddy and I were fishing last weekend and it had been several years since either of us had sucker fished.
The discussion while on the water that day turned to our old sucker rigging boxes and how we would set up a new one today and what we'd have inside and why.
I'd love to hear what others use and recommend as far as contents, size, quantity and why.
I have my bait needles,
rubber bands, (the old dental ones),
7 strand braid,
crimping tool,
clips,
split rings,
rubber core sinkers.
trebles with safety pins soldered to the side to stick to the sucker
tail gunner rigging, # 4 aberdeens, snap swivels, different colored blades
90# Blue label fluorocarbon
I know that now people are just straightening out one treble rather than soldering a safety pin, that is much simpler.
What other attachment devises besides rubber bands are you guys using, (I've seen a whole variety, but want to know what guys are really using)
What kind of box do you find works best?
Thanks for your input...the season is still open and I'm still thinking big Muskies! |

| Instead of using the clips or rubber bands I've been using a large single hook thru the suckers lips then the quick strike rigged as usual (like many, I make my own quick strikes ) I've caught a few fish the past few years on that single hook that I wouldn't have caught otherwise so buy quality hooks! |
