I want to get a crankbait for casting and fishing weeds and rocks in the 5-10' depths. What's your favorite? I was thinking of something in the 8" range...maybe a Slammer, Custom x, shallow raider...lots of options.

Shallow invader or I like the super cisco from ti they are just like the shad rap just bigger. 7" ss shad with a little solder wrapped around the books is also a favorite of mine.

Have a look at www.fishall-lures.com, very well priced handmade lures.

How do the custom X Minis hold up to a day in Canada pounding rocks?

BSG; The Mrs. Uses custom X 5" deep diver in Canada, and moves tons of fish behind my lead. Holds up well in the boulders.

Thanks.

Not to hijack, but this year I pretty much beat up 2-3 depth raiders in 4 days. Lips are still in tact but most of the paint is gone. They went through a beating though. Just looking for a different look for next year. I just don't want to break lips off.

Garden State Baits Jersey Shads work great in that range for both ripping and twitching. Not sure if TRO still has them in stock though. Solid baits and the fish seem to enjoy them

i have had outstanding results this year using the new 4" baker bait for casting and trolling as well. they are built very well and hold up to fish abuse. when casting they worked the 6' to 8' zone. good luck!
