Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid | With the cooler weather the past week and with the cold front headed this way at the end of the week the fishing on Lake Kinkaid has been nothing short of spectacular. In just a few short after work 2-3 hour trips we have bagged 3, 2, 2, and 1 fish with several other fish hooked. All fish have come on blades, DC-8s, DC-9s, and some new custom bucktails.

Location: Perryville, MO | Nice Fish (hmmm...can't quite figure out where that one was caught. Haha!)
Surprised I haven't seen you, Matt. Good to know that you've been out there somewhere. I got it kicked into gear this week as well. Leaving in a bit and will be there again tomorrow as well. Last Thursday was the first time I had targeted the esox this Fall (no fish that day...thought maybe I was ahead of things, but Monday and Tuesday proved otherwise.) One fish followed a Suick out of some slop and didn't commit, every other fish I've seen (?) or stuck (3) has been on blades (of course, minus that one hour I haven't thrown anything else). Thinking I got an idea for now what they're up to...hoping to keep a consistent effort this Fall and stay on them, but time will tell.
My buddy has a site at Sharp Rock Falls nowadays so from time to time I'll probably just steal his rig instead of pulling mine over. If I'm not in my G3 then I'll be in his older Ranger. Hope to see you sometime on the water. Continued success to you and all! |
