I have quite a few fluorocarbon leaders that are 3-4 years but never used. Theyve been stored in a tackle box in the garage. Do you think they're ok to use still? They're the crimped ones from Thorne bros in I think 100lb test.

Thanks
Joe

Nope. Give em to me so I can properly dispose of them for you.

They are good.

Toss them to the weed cutter.

They are still good.

I would throw then in the water... with my line in one end and a bait in the other

Fluoro carbon has a half life of 5,000 years, it does not break down with time like mono. As long the crips and snaps are in good condition and no nicks or abrasions on the leader itself it will be good. Fluoro does not break down in UV from the sun either.
