Location: Poynette WI. | Anyone else have a problem with the rear hook fouling on a 7 inch suick. Just about all mine always do this. It gets stuck on top of the bait, same hook and side everytime. I've tried different size hooks and bending it different ways. I don't want to go with any smaller hook or really cut any hooks because the hooks hitting the lure give it it's sound. So I'm curious if anyone has any tips that would help correct this. |

| I added some shrink tube to one i had, (not a suick but a hand make dive/rise) that did what you describe.

Location: Minnesota. | Elijah, nope I haven't personally experienced this as I don't fish this size Suick but as a guess, maybe bend the two hooks out a bit on that treble so they lay flatter to the underside of the bait??
Just a thought/guess...not a fun problem, for sure. Try it. |

Location: Poynette WI. | I guess I'll just have to play around with it some more. I don't use this size to often either, I live the nine inch wooden ones way better. The 7 inch are extremely light and have a lot smaller margin for error when working them it seems like. I have had some luck with this size though. I take alot of kids fishing and it's a good size lure for them to use so I'd like to be able to figure out the best way to prevent this from happening. What is the rubber band trick? |
