Posts: 859 Location: MN | Why don't we see any big blades with Bucktail hair? Its always flashabou, or feathers. Is it a movement thing? Love to hear thoughts on this topic.

Posts: 1767 Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | marabou and flashabou pulsate more in the water, giving the bait a more lively look. It's really that simple

Posts: 150 Location: Appleton, WI | I've made some single 10 blade bucktails with hair and they have done well but feathers and flashabou really do come alive with a double blade

Posts: 365 | I buy my tied bucktails on a coiled wire from rollie&helens ,,, get the "large" ones and when you get them ,, super glue the wrapped threads just to be safe --- jim

Posts: 1169 Location: New Hope MN | I've done it before, and caught fish on them. I wrap it on two coils and point one down and one up (reversed) into the blades. Works pretty well, but I find the hair breaks off by the end of the summer... I switched to marabou a few years ago with no plans to go back.
