I haven't been out in a while, are we getting to the no-go zone yet on Clear lake, Pleasant creek and Brushy?

Sounds like I'll have to hit brushy or drive all the way to 'boji then.

Ok, guess I'll just fish the driftless for trout until temps go down in September

It's going to be tough launching a boat at PC this fall if they lower the lake by 15 feet in August. I think that will take about 1/2 the water out of the lake if not more. I worry about the fish kill as a result of lowering the lake level and the work they plan on doing. How long will it take to fill up again?

Some days I wish I had some of whatever the Iowa DNR is smoking, it must be a real trip. They are essentially killing off the entire lake. Who knows, it might be good again in a couple decades. They should net half of the skis out and put them in big creek so they aren't wasted.

I think we are off the water for at least the short term. I had a buddy on brushy yesterday. Main lake was 76 or 77 fingers at 78 or 79. He moved some fish on blades and had his hooks shaked on a top raider. I picked him up and went to clear soon as he got off brushy. Clear was also 76/77. With the new moon fish moved good. I stuck 2 mid and upper 30s and had another larger fish shake loose all on blades. Fish still on the move when we got chased off at 3 am by a strong thunder cell. Little bit bummed I missed that real strong am bite window but cant complain to hard after doubling up.

With the next 2 days on the frying pan everything is probably going to be low to mid 80s by Monday. We might be back by next weekend, here are the 2 long range forecasts for the 2 near by towns. We might have to touch base here with each other because forecasts never seam to hold true, some wind, rain and lowers temps are coming.

To bad about Pleasant, was planning on hitting it for the first time this year. Always heard great things, I've always been a clear lake/brushy creek junky.
