I bought a humminbird 688 ci last year, i mounted it on my new boat exactly where they said everything is level. The problem i am having is when im going anywhere from 20-35 it will read 200 feet of water. i was told to change the ping speed. but i do not know how to change the ping speed. any suggestions?

i would look at how u have the transducer mounted. sounds like your getting turbulence from the hull. try moving it down a bit, angling it forward just a bit, and make sure its not mounted behind a row of rivets or a rib if its on a alum boat.

On the Sonar Menu tab (with Advanced mode on) find the Noise Filter and set it to a higher setting. That has worked for others with similar issues.
