Hi Guys,

Heading up to the Indian Lake Chain in Ontario next weekend, was wondering if anyone had some info to share. Lures, Structure, Which Lakes?

Any information is appreciated.

I will report the results when I get back.

Thanks!

I haven't been out there in a long time and I have heard rumblings it has changed for the worse....

I used to do pretty well fishing the timber laydowns that are on Indian and Edwards with Top Raiders. There's at least 3-4 pockets of them from where it got flooded over.
There's a neckdown area between Indian and Edwards too, that was always good.

If I recall Cobble and Bladder were darker, almost muddy lakes. Got a ton of numbers there tossing blk/orange tails.

The back lakes are clearer trout lakes ( Boulder and Little Boulder)....heard there are some big ones back there but I never did well. Pretty boring structure wise, certainly way less numbers.

Smaller bucktails worked great out there ( as small as Mepps#5), straight black bulldawgs, top raiders...I'd focus on Indian and Edwards for better quality of fish

It does seem like people are kind of down on that chain. Just to cast a ray of light, my buddy got 14 in 4 days out there last summer. That was without trying very hard, according to him.

It's been several years since i have fished that chain, but I did have my best luck hitting the deeper edges on Forest Lake. My friend still swears that I raised up "Nessy" near the bigger island!

As for lures, it is tough to beat bucktails in summer. I wouldn't necessarily go with the big ones though. Maybe Mepps Giant Killer sized ones. I guess just like any trip, you will have to let the water tell you what is going to work (or a guide/resort owner)

Good luck! and please let us know how your trip went
