| I just returned from first trip to lotw. we fished within 4 mile ride of angle inlet each day. our group fished 50 percent walleyes and 50 percent musky. we boated a significant number of musky most were 30-35 inches. caught using suicks and small bucktails primarily. Walleyes were allover the size line primarily jigging in 14-20 feet of water with minnows. Musky were primarily near shore on points with reeds and rocks. My question is; we would like to go back, but also like to explore. If we wanted bigger fish would you return to the same area (angle inlet) or would you try morson area or kenora area? we would want to look for a camp early and 4-6 mile travels seems right to us. thanks for any responses, good luck with the fishing |

Location: Lake Elmo, MN | Bigger ? I'd definitely go north from Angle Inlet towards Kenora. Monument Bay, Wiley Point area, Crow Rock and The Labrynth area, all are great spots for big fish.

| we had 2 high school kids wit us so we want to keep it with reasonable numbers (keep them interested) will we sacrifice that too much up there? The amount of pressure was great where we were, we saw occasional boats, but never on any of the spots we were trying to fish. We were going to boat up to monument bay 1 day but wind out of north with small white caps and fear of storm made us stay around windigo islands that day. we were told pressure is way more in monument bay?

Location: N Illinois | I caught my biggest musky, 52, not far from Onion Island. I've also gotten a 48 from the same area. Others in our group have gotten 50 inch fish in the Clipper complex. There are big fish in the area you are fishing. It might be the time of year you are fishing that area.

| Agree with the previous post. The first 50" I ever caught was off the little island just S of Sandy's resort. There is no shortage of big fish in the area you are fishing. |

| I realize big fish can be anywhere. we had a blast wit where we were. I figured its a question worth asking for when we plan for next year. the timing works well for us so will likely still be late june or early july. thanks for the replies. its an awesome lake |

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | Best best is to go a week later next yet...in my experiences, big girls kinda start to get going in the last few days of June/ first few of July...absolutely nothing wrong with the area in terms of big fish |

Location: Lake Elmo, MN | I've fished Wiley Point area for 20+ years.....but headed to Angle Inlet on trip #2 in 2 weeks. Can't wait to compare bites in 2 different areas. 8 guys Staying at Jake's NW Angle.

| it's your first year on a huge lake, look at maps, fish good spots and you'll figure out where the big fish like to hang out. ( although exact spots where females' are hanging out changes most opener's due to weather and water conditions) - I love opening week for big fish, this year was another great year for big fish.
