I took out my new akuma akena and after about 2 days of use it started making this bad grinding noise when I reeled in. I was using a large bucktail at the time musky fishing. It was also making a strange very noticeable noise while casting. The same thing can be heard from taking out drag as when reeling in. I never dropped it in the dirt or water and it strangly happend just randomly while fishing. I stopped using it and tryed looking at it but have no idea what to do.
Any help would be great!

Same thing happened to me.

Take off the cast control knob and check the bearing under there (it's the spool axle bearing for the crank side). Mine started corroding pretty quickly.

It doesnt look like there is any corrosion under the tension knob however there is a lot of some sort of lubricant in there. Doubt that is the problem but who knows I guess
