Posts: 275 | What prop would you guys recommend for a 2003 60HP Mercury ELPTO. I know very little about what pitch does what........I just want a good all around prop that suits both top end and holeshot. I've been on the Mercury site and checked out the 4 blade spitfires but can't come to any conclusion of which prop to get. If my memory serves me right, I think the hub sleeve has 13 splines. Any advice is appreciated. Jaimy

Posts: 410 Location: one foot over the line | On the Mercury site, click on propellers, then click on prop selector and fill in the blanks. Might get you pointed in the right direction.

Posts: 275 | Thanks guys, I pulled the prop and checked it out today. Not sure on RPMs and haven't had it on the water this year yet. It's a Merc 60 ELPTO on a Fisher 165 pro avenger sport...I can get up to 34 MPH max alone in the boat. With two guys and all our gear usually 30-32 max. Here is the info that I got off my prop and shaft......... Shaft- #991236 with 13 splines Hub- sleeve, Michigan #991227 Prop-MI Wheel Vortex CO1 12 The Mercury site was quite helpful but it didn't state how many splines were on the included hub sleeves, and I don't want to order something that wont fit. Thanks again for any info, Jaimy

I don't think your prop is too far off, if it's off at all. I've got a 2008 50 HP ELPTO Merc on a deep-V Tracker ProGuide V-16, about the same size as your boat, I think. Its prop was properly sized by Tracker, and I get about 30 MPH tops, at about 5300 rpm.

Posts: 275 | The prop I have now is a bit chewed up so I need to replace it anyway....It wil become my spare. If i'm going to be replacing it, I just want to get the best results that I can out of whatever prop I choose. Was wondering if Merc had a spitfire four blade that would suit my needs. I'll try to contact them. Jaimy Edited by BMuskyX 5/27/2015 6:17 AM

Posts: 109 | Well you have to let us know what your WOT rpm is. You can get more performance out of it if your below your rpm range by getting a 1 lower pitch prop and that will raise the rpm giving you a faster holeshot and greater rpm. You don't want to go over the suggested rpm by mercury though.
