So Im working to get 3 rod and reel combos for throwing everything from the small stuff up to pounders. I really like the TI 9ft rods so I will probably get one in each action MH, XH, and XXH, but I am not sure what reels to pair up with each.
For the MH I was thinking of going with a size 50 NACL HS for the smaller bucktails, cranks, glide baits, etc.
For the XH I was thinking of going with a size 60 NACL 5.4 for a mid range all purpose/bucktail rod.
As for the XXH I was not sure if I wanted the size 60 NACL HS or standard 5.4 for pounders, big jerks/gliders, and other heavy lures.
Let me know what suggestions you have as far as gear ratios on the NACLs for these setups, also feel free to chime in about the rod lengths for the setups if you feel I should use something other than a 9ft for one of the combos. Thanks in advance.

Comes down to how much you want to spend. I'm a Shimano guy it's all I use. Pounder set up Tranx HG
double Tens Trans PG
All others 400 TE

I really like the NACLs so the question I am asking is specifically about the gear ratios for each reel for each rod specifically the XXH pounder/heavy lure rod

I have my Abu rigs set up pretty much exactly as you list them.

I also have similar setups but I would worry about using a 9' MH for glide/twitch baits. I have 7'6" LT. jerk with a nacl 50 hs. For glides and twitch baits. 8'6 sling blade with a 60 5.4 for cranks and blades and a 9'xxh TI with a 60 HS on it for line pick up while tossing rubber.. I had a tranx HG but didn't care for the size and weight of it. Love the NACL's!

Size 60 hs for jerk baits and rubbers. Not scAred of 9' rods on jerk baits. Instead of down you will go sideways a bit it works just fine.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I am a taller guy at 6'4" so the length for me is not an issue, plus I like the deeper/bigger 8s that I can get out of the longer rods.

I am adding another set up soon and was wondering something similar. Have you guys had any trouble using the 60HS with big rubber. My concern was durability so I was considering a saltist for my rubber rig but think I would like a 60HS more if durability was not an issue.

60 hs will pull big rubber with ease so unless a person had a technique issue that causes a mid cast stoppage I can't fathom a durability issue
