I want to add a backup automatic bilge to my X190. I assume I will have to put another hole in the boat for that new bilge to pump water out. I wouldn't think you could use the same hose from main bilge as it would create back pressure. Has anyone done this ? Or anyone have one already installed on one ,where does the secondary bilge exit and is it mounted next to the main bilge?

Thanks for any help
Joe

Doesn't really matter where it exits the boat. Next to the existing one, just make sure you drill that hole far enough away to screw on the hardware down, or on the cap on the other side. There is likely enough room next to the installed pump to mount the second one. If not, just install an aluminum plate big enough, and mount it there.

Thanks
I am going to try and put the exit hole on opposite side of current , not enough room next to it. And yes there is ample room in the bilge area for a second .

Mine were aligned vertically, not side by side. I don't have a picture to show. WTF, I have pictures of every other sq in of that boat!

Thanks for the help, no problem about the photo.
Not much room maybe side by side ,but would wrap on corner of cap.
I'll try and attach a pic of the bilge exit on my port side.

Go to the starboard side, and you'll be set.

Why don't you just put a T in the line, right behind the current discharge hole

Could that back flow through the other bilge?

Bilge pumps are not made for pressure just volume. I would think it would backup into other bilge. Especially if I had to run both pumps.
Starboard side gets the new bilge exit.

Could you put inline check valves in?
