I bought a new finder. After saying three years ago I was done chasing tech now I have this thing on the front of my boat ( havent used it yet) but it is starting to scare me with all the updates and such anyone else done this? now I think I need to see what is under water I have fished for 30 years

Lot's of info there.
The firmware updates are rather easy once you know how to do it.

You absolutely can "handle it". Just don't try to make it do too many things right away. Start with bottom contour and hardness. Then move to all the other things it can do.....but do it in stages. If you try to read a manual cover to cover, or get all the features right away, you'll be overwhelmed and hate the thing.

It's a terrific tool when used correctly.

Do you know if you actually even need the update? Sometimes its for features you may not even use. Perhaps just read through the release notes and see if its something you want to tackle otherwise just use it as it is as long as there isn't a technical problem.

This guy has never spoken truer words . If anyone knows more about any thing I would like to meet them. Thanks for the advice G ROME I will keep updating.
Oh BTW I got the unit running, look out skis
