Looking for a kicker tie bar that doesn't have to be disconnected when running the big motor and kicker is tilted up.

Do not get the EZsteer. Its junk. The motor mounts will break, the bar occasionally will pop off or come apart. Junk.

The seastar tie bar is the best bet. But you need 14inches of clearance on each side of the motor. Non big motor side for the arm to go back and forth and in between motors for the cable connecting the 2. I agree have seen the ez steer fail many of times. There are plent of options tho. Even a normal tie bar will work. Even tho they say tou must disconnect. Not true at all. I and i know plenty of others that always leave theres connected.

Reread the OP. Yah, I wouldn't want to use the removeable tie bar if left connected, and trust it to hold up. I think I'd get to the machine store, or a good hardware store, and get heim ends and threaded tubing, with Jam nuts.

Do you have a kicker, or a portable motor? There is a difference. True kickers have heavy duty mounts. And the Merc ProKicker tiller version has centering straps to keep it from moving when tilted up. The removeable bar takes literally seconds to put on and remove. I usually see the permanently connected on those kickers that have the remote control box at the helm. A good boat dealer should have all the parts you need to do this.

It's a pro kicker but the centering straps aren't on it. It is a remote kicker.

I'd get to a Ranger or Lund Dealer. They should have, or can get the parts to do this. I've seen many done for permanent connection by the dealers. Pretty sure they used heim ends, and threaded rod. Probably 5/16" thread size?

Found this P/N HO6010 from Teleflex. This is what I've seen. You can get the cylindar adaptor, and the ProKicker mount from my parts list, and do the heim ends and threaded rod yourself. Or spend the bucks and buy this kit.
