Anybody fished it? I use to hunt the area when I was a kid, but never fished it. Any thoughts, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to send me a message if you would rather. Thanks!!

We usually make it up there a few times every year. We have some follows every once in a while. They are BIG girls. If you could tangle with one of them they would be a fistful to handle. We have had success jigging the cribs, and trolling. At shell lake your not quantity fishing your quality fishing.

The smallmouth and walleye populations are very good. Take a break from muskies and give them a try if the muskies don't cooperate.

Never fished it. Only thing I know of is from talking with a shop owner that had an employee that fishes it (so I knew a guy that knew a guy...). Sounds like the guy would come in with bags under his eyes from fishing it all night. Got the feeling the guy that fished it at night, and what was said above about a low density of big fish sounded about the same from the conversation we had.

Lots of hearsay there, but that's all I have heard about Shell lake. I live within 30 minutes or so of it. I should fish it some day just to see what it's like.

Talked with a gent who lives up there and has fished it all his life. A very well known fellow. His response was it's not like it used to be...
