| Looking for a new gps/locator combo. What is your opinion of down imaging. Does it work as good on the water as it looks on display in the store? Worth the extra $$$ |

Location: Lake St Clair | I have the low range elite 5 dsi
I can see each leaf below me, the detail is great
I use it mostly for the gps but it helps to know what exactly is under me |

Location: Palatine, IL | Its great for structure, but not for finding fish. I usually drive around with split screen gps/standard sonar, so I don't use it much. |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | I have a 798CI SI that was on a boat i just bought. It still has the protector over the screen and has very little use. PM me if interested. I have the original box and manuals as well. |

| I use mine every time on the water. Get the biggest you can afford, you'll never hear anyone say,"Man I wish I bought a smaller graph!" |

Location: Walker, MN | The most valuable application of DI is comparing digital and analog. Often what looks like a fish on the analog graph is obviously bait or something else on the digital. Often the analog tells a better story but being able to see two views really gives you a better idea. There really is no substitute for that analog graph so a bigger screen (split) or two units is best. I run a HDS 10 that is usually split between DI and analog, my GPS is a separate unit. I would never run the DI only. |
