This one apparently floats at rest and dives with a side to side action (like a sandcat?). It sounds like a winner to me. Does anyone have any experience building this lure or others from the website?

Location: Morgantown, WV | He gives the hole location, diameter, and depth of hole (see the stencil) so it is probably fairly close to the original if you use the same type of wood.
I am not using beech so I put the lead in the suggested location and used what I thought was appropriate. I think the location of the lead is the key on this lure. I don't think the exact amount is critical because it is a floater/diver. From my experience is it hardest to make one that suspends/sinks very slowly.

| I have built lures off this website before. I have not tried any jerkbaits yet but i built the 6" and 7.5" divani twitchbaits and they work awesome. Im not sure what wood he suggested for those, i just used cedar and they turned out great. Im currently working on a squirrley version of the 6 incher. |

Location: Culloden, WV | My bait was all from what I personally wanted with no blue print. But inspiration from an old 70's era crane bait I had given to me to repair the lip. I made few other futile attempts but never had a blue print. Just knew wanted smaller profile shallow floating bait that was not like any i had seen that's the best thing about this hobby if you can't find it. Make it. |

Location: Morgantown, WV | Well I got my Divani XL all sealed up. I took it for a swim today and I must say that it does have a very appealing action. It floats at rest and dives/wiggles like a rattletrap on a straight retrieve. Little jerks/pulls get it to do some side to side although this is pretty erratic (probably a desireable quality). When you pause, it backs up a little and rises to the surface with a nice wiggle. It probably runs down to 3 or 4 feet most of the time. I should have taken a video. I'll definitely paint it, clear-coat it and put it in my tackle box.

Location: Morgantown, WV | I just used a pine "2x4". I don't think many people like pine for baits. I'm not sure why. It is strong, cheap, readily available, and sands nicely. |

| Yes i agree with everything you said about pine. I asked why no one uses pine in another thread and no one would say why. I recently started making a couple of the divani twichbaits out of some pine i had laying around. It seems about the same density as cedar i think theyll work good... |

Location: Morgantown, WV | Lure is finished and all ready for teeth marks. I wound up adding a little extra weight behind the middle hook hanger to slow the rise and hopefully get more side to side action.
