Posts: 815 Location: Waukee, IA | With all of this talk about Grandma lures, I looked at mine and have no clue what it is. It's the exact same length as an 8" Jake but not as tall, straight bill that says grandma, holographic golden carp pattern. I looked for 8" grandmas and the closest I got was 7 1/2" and 9". I really like the lure and would like to get a few more, but don't know what I'm looking for.

Posts: 81 Location: NEW | Grandma made an 8 inch that was jointed. I think that's when they were made by Magna Strike.

Posts: 143 Location: Palatine, IL | Do Grandmas actually have the word "Grandma" on them? I picked up a 9" crankbait at a swap meet the other day, but it has no markings on it. It looks exactly like the Grandma Classic in the R&H catalog.

Posts: 791 Location: WI | The 7&1/2" is the classic. There is a 6 , 7.5, 9 and 13" models. I believe I have 1 of every model ranging from a 13" wood and 9" wood from the ' 60s , to both generations of m9 to the j9 jerk. M6 models and the other 9" plastic model from the 80s-90s. There are a ton of variations. Post pics and we will know for sure. Most likely a std classic model though.

Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | Weevil - 4/5/2015 12:13 AM Do Grandmas actually have the word "Grandma" on them? Pretty sure they do. A guy by the name of John Eversoll makes a wooden version, from old growth pine called a Granny. Maybe you got one of those? Pic? Being wood they are a little more buoyant than the plastic Grandmas thus riding a little higher in the water.

Posts: 2068 | tkuntz - 4/3/2015 9:48 AM I thought that too, I'll have to weight it when I get a chance its definitely a 7.5", a 9" grandma is noticeably longer than an 8" Jake when side by side...like you said a 7.5 " is basically the same length as an 8" Jake. Get some 9" Grandma's too!
