Either one would be a good day, just being out on the water enjoying all of mother nature beauty makes it a good day.But fairly new to musky fishing seriously so either would be nice!

Does not matter how many years you fished but where. Lets hear some best days. Come on brag it up. What was the best day ever? What can a great day on LSC look like?

Depends. five sub-40 fish in a day by fluke vs a 50 by fluke, I'll take the fluke.

Now, if those five sub40's came after figuring out the pattern the hard way vs a fluke 50, I'll take the day where I figured it out.

Numbers for me. I enjoy any muskie encounter. Sure, a 50 would be good, but they come as they do.

I'll start to set the bar low. I've had three different 4-fish outings.

The first was an all-nighter in 2012 with Kirby Budrow and the four muskies ranged from 44 to 52 inches. That night will be HARD to beat (though I think Kirby has beaten it already... more than once).

Second was in 2013 fishing by myself. Caught four small (36 - 44") ones in a 2-hour window. I figured with another guy casting we could've had 6 - 10 muskies.

That same year three of us caught four muskies from 40 - 44" in a 70 minute window. That was nuts.

I'd still rather have one 50 than five sub-40's in a day. But I haven't fully graduated to the only-monster-fish obsession. Catching five or more 40 to 48" fish in a day would be more fun for me than a single 50, I think.

One over 50.

Had a few days where we boated 5, but not all were caught by me.

Had three 6 fish days this year alone, I am yet to break the magic 50" mark though so that is my vote

one over 50 for sure. multiple fish days are always fun but you gotta love when a big girl shows up in the net.

I'll net 5 smaller ones for my boat partner, he can net my 50".

I helped net 8 in a day once, then they netted my 49.5". That was an epic day.

I would really rather be fishing right now trying to catch numbers OR a 50+. instead of looking at snow on the ground and typing this!

One 50 inch fish will keep me going back all year. Having a 50"+ follow will keep me going several months

1 over 50 no doubt. If I caught 'only' 1 50 every time I went fishing, I would be very motivated to go fishing!

Bring on the 50's.

One a day would be ok with me. Big fish are just way more impressive and don't come along enough in my area. Numbers are easy to rack up especially sub 40's.

Now five 40 - 45's would be a tougher question.

Or three fish 45-48"?

I could easily go 50 but if I had my grand kids with me the 5 would make their day

It's variable dependant. With numbers days in that category relatively routine, and big fish being the target and more memorable, I vote the latter. As Mike mentions, if size criteria was a bit different on the numbers, that'd sway votes. If my 7 year old daughter is along, the numbers gets the vote, hands down, as just 'a' Musky excites her so much.

Yeah, it depends on who is in the boat. If it's just for me though, I'll take the 50".

Sure would be nice if the WI DNR read this. Maybe, just maybe, they'd realize the need for a higher size limit.
