Location: Minneapolis, MN | Last year 4 of us went up to Cass Lake and two people had to use the resorts rental boat as we only have a 16.5’ ourselves. The two who used the resort boat are complaining about the lack of GPS and some of the other features we are used to on our boat. I’ve contacted a few other resorts on the lake and none of them will rent boats to those who aren’t staying with them. We are going back up again this fall and we are getting a really good rate at the resort we stayed at last year so it’s not really an option to stay at these other resorts. So I’m wondering if anyone knows of a place up there or around the metro area that one could rent a fishing boat and take it with them for the weekend. |

Location: Forest Lake, MN & Bemidji, MN | If you are only going for a weekend tell them to use the money they would for the rental boat and book Kevin Cochran for a few days instead! If they are not interested in a guide maybe they could get a handheld or portable kayak type of set up to add to the boats where you are staying. Finding a rental boat with nice electronics is probably going to be very tough, they are rentals after all. Good luck. |

Location: Bemidji | Lots of dead water on Cass. Fish like wind out there which may be difficult in a 16.5ft boat. If you are interested in a guide to shorten the learning curve I can help. |
