So I have a $100 gift certificate to TB that I've been holding onto waiting for the MN Musky show or their annual sale and I started making a list of things I wanted to buy, and there's nothing that I'm really that excited about. I "only" have 67 baits, 18 bucktails, 13 crankbaits, 3 gliders, 2 suicks, 3 spinnerbaits, 18 swimbaits and 10 topwaters. So I clearly don't have the collection a lot of guys have, yet I'm not finding anything that's screaming buy me!!!!

So far my lists consists of:
Musky Mayh?em Elec?tric Bunn?y - Red-?Yello?w/Fla?m??e
Musky Bust?er Phat Boy - Blac?k
Musky Bust?er Lowr?ider - Blac?k
Monst?er Lure?s Brid?e of Cree?penst?ein - Baby Loon
Dadso?n Laze?r - Jell?yfish

So what's yelling buy me to you guys?

You already have more than you need to catch muskies. Don't become a lure collector like the rest of us. I won't live long enough to get all the lures I have wet. last year all my cast fish came on 2 lures and my trolled fish came on 3 lures. I had an exceptionally good year.

I have taken several young guys out to get them started i usually give them about 15 baits and tell them these are good baits and all you really need . Usually within 6 months they are lugging around 100 or more baits . it's a sickness much worse in the winter.

My new mentality with baits is, own/buy less but the ones I do buy are going to be the best quality. I am selling some of my baits I bought when I started and upgrading this year. Here are a few suggestions from baits I have been impressed with the quality and have been very productive for me. I'm not sure if all of these are available at TB.

Headlock, if you troll and don't own one you need to buy one. Forget about how much it costs. When you have slime dripping on you from a big girl you'll forget all about the price tag.

Adam's custom mega trout swimbait. You can work this bait so many different ways.

Wood Pacemaker

Dadson's Bullet

Esox Custom Spinner Baits (Contact PJV from this forum to get your color and style of choice)

Lee's Lure Hot Wings Creeper

If you don't need any of this stuff you could always buy line, leaders and hooks. You will need those eventually.

I did think about a headlock but I don't troll so I don't really see the point. If they made one for casting, maybe I'd be interested.

May not be very sexy but buy a 1200 yd spool of your favorite braid on-sale. You will have it when you need it and save some money.

Knipex hook cutters (if you don't have them already), line, leaders, extra hooks, and split rings.

Don't be afraid to trust your own fishing intuition! Odds are you know more than you think, and it's always fun to test out your own theories on the water

Good advice on the knipex hook cutters. Very nice to have if you get hooked to a fish.

Over/under bulldawg are exclusive to thrones,,got those???

Dam
phatt boys are one of the best metro spring baits they look like little newly hatched ducklings. But a lot of guys give up on them. I'm betting 6 - 10 show up at the swap meet after the expo if you can make that. $5 will get you one usually.

I had looked at the underdawg but the lake I fish is a stooked tiger lake, and most of the fish seem to be sub 30, so I'm thinking the underdawg may be too large as it only comes in mag plus and pounder. I would do a TI rod as I'm looking at a new jerk air rod, but TB doesn't carry them.

Not taking over a TB thread but TB does not currently carry any Tackle Industries products . Send me an email and I can give you a lot of great retailers that support Tackle Industries (both in-store and online if you are out of a retailer area).

Thanks,
