Recently got a steal on a 400te, it only came with the power handle and i have preferred the double padded handle, anybody know where i can pick up the original handle?

Where are you located? I have the double paddle handle and I'd consider trading you (I'm in Minneapolis/St.Paul/Northwest Wisconsin)...

just googled 400te paddle handle, looks like this site sells the double paddle for $22.50 - http://www.matsreelrepair.com/pages/reel-handles-for-sale.php

Gotta scroll down about 2/3 of the way.

Go on ebay and buy an aftermarket one and call it a day if you want a longer paddle.

I really like the extended length of the 400d handle. You feel less handcuffed and it makes a full day of heavy cranking more manageable.

So are you saying it wouldn't work/be compatible with it?

Correct. totally different attaching units. Go to Dave's Reel I am sure he has one if Shimano doesn't directly

Call Mat at the address listed above. He has more handles and even custom modified handles than anyone. He knows his stuff and will get you into the right thing.
