What do you guys do for tackle set-up? Do you have a big lakeland? Do you have a few of those larger clear plano boxes with a large portion of your baits in the back of your vehicle just in case you come across a hot color/lure and you need more? I'm sure there is tons more, just looking for ideas for efficiency.

I have my lures in the clear Plano 3700 series tackle boxes, organized by use - bucktails & spinnerbaits, topwaters, jerkbaits, crankbaits - shallow, crankbaits - deep, jigs & creatures and a special "favorites" box. I have another box with tools, first aid kit, sunblock etc. Works great, but you have to be sure to allow the lures to dry thoroughly before closing the lid.

Dunwright large size, Lakewood Monster, and a Clear Vision on the front seat.  Not very settled with the setup yet.  Trying to set up the Dunwright for stained water baits and the Lakewood for clear water, but right now they're divided equally for back-of-the-boat partners to use.

* Lakewood Musky Monster houses my crank and jerk baits. Four clear Plano boxes in the side pockets (1) larger bucktails, (1) smaller bucktails, (1) jig heads and some rubber/plastic creatures, (1) smaller crankbaits i.e., Rattletraps, Jitterbugs, Hellknockers, etc.
Long nose pliers, hook sharpening file, split ring pliers, etc. are kept in elastic holsters on end of the case.

* Homemade case (fabbed from ammo box) holds all safetypin spinners and leaders.

* Plano Double sided case houses remainder of jig heads and rubber/plastic creatures.

* Release tools, head lamps, lure retriever, etc. are all kept in a canvas bag.

I have two of the large Plano boxes, one with bucktails and spinnerbaits and the other with topwater, cranks and jerkbaits. I have many other baits that I keep home and rotate through depending on where I'm fishing. I also carry a small clear Plano box with everything to repair baits, i.e., split rings, swivels, snaps, hooks.

One large Plano for the musky stuff, a large drawered Plano for everything else. In both cases, I can open and manipulate lures with only one hand. This is a very important ergonomic criteria for me because I change baits often and want to minimize necessary steps. "Down with downtime!"

I am currently using two flambeau soft side bags that hold 7 9X14 plastic boxes each with one of the boxes being about 1.5 x deeper than the other 6.
Each box usually holds 8-12 baits with the fatboys and other odd sized stuff going in the bigger one. So I can carry 150 in the two bags pretty easily but usually just sort into a decreasing population as it gets colder and then start increasing as it warms up. Usually only carry one of these with. Bag has plenty of side pockets for whatever. This rigging really suites me well. Of course I usually have another 3 dozen baits lying on the front deck most of the time.

I have a big hanging style plano with all my jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and topwaters. I also have a few cranks in it. I have a large drawer system that my mom had at her store at one time, I think it was designed for sewing thread but has good organizers and I can keep lots of crankbaits in it. Although under the console its kind of hard to get at at times. I have all my bucktails (30 or 40) in a plano 3730 (the tall plano clear box)

I use 1/2 of a large Flambeau box divider. Fits perfectly in a standard milk crate and holds 25+ lures. Under each but seat I have tubes mounted, holding 5 more under each. A deep 3700 box in a storage compartment holds all the odds and ends. The rest of the lures are left in the truck at the landing, ready for easy substitution depending on the lake or my mood that day. Probably only use 6-10 per day anyway, but they are fun to look at anyway.

Plano boxes. Like to keep my stuff locked and loaded..
After my Lakeland was stolen 2 years ago, I lock all my compartments, expecially at launches where you have a little hike.

I got tired of lugging all those big heavy boxes and the threat of theft. I took out the inserts from two Flambeau Maximizer boxes and wedged them into the tackle compartments front and back of my boat which are under cover, lock and key. I pull out the biats I'm planning to use that day and put them in clear vision tubes. I love that I have no big boxes to trip over amymore.

These stay in my tackle room unless I am on a trip, then they stay in the cabin. I also use plastic boxes to set up my baits for the day. Most of those end up on the front deck all in a hep by the middle of the day.

One box is a B&B, the other a Lakewood.

I have 3 of the big Plano boxes, 1 of the new Dunright boxes, a wooden hanging baitbox called the Musky Lunchbox(holds 60+ baits) plus a round pail with cross bars to hold bucktails and spinnerbaits; the post of your butt seat goes through the pail. That's just for the Musky gear! I can't get all of my boxes in my boat. I keep telling my wife that we need a bigger boat.

I have a feeling that as the years go by I'll add to the collection.

The giant cabelas bag will hold 7 of the big plano boxes and 3 more of the big plano boxes that are not deep. Will hold more tackle than any other box.

I just bought a small box for fishing in others boats. It will hold 4 3700 plano boxes and three side compartments. Will hold quite a few baits and is more or less considered a bass box.
