Hey guys. I live in Illinois and the season is open year round. Warm weather is coming and hopefully the lakes open up within a month. My question is what is your approach for that time of year. Bait, big or small. Depth, shallow or deeper transition areas. Speed, slow or fast. I'm still a novice to the game and it seems like I start to get action starting June in summer spots that I know hold fish. Meaning I can't figure out the fish early season. Thx

Shortly after ice out i believe they'd be going shallow to get ready to spawn.
