I plan on fishing the Smokey's muskie tourney on Pewaukee this weekend with good old lucky Steve Worrall. Its always a fun event, its a local tourney with only 35 boats by invitation.

get on a plane on friday morning, arrive at my brother's in the afternoon. leaving his house at midnight- hope to have the boat in the water at 3:30AM- to our spot at 4. (doing the same thing on sunday night into monday AM. )
strategy- try to get the fish my brother located last week(without me) to hit on twitching lures(cranes and shallow raiders)-rather than just getting them to follow on bucktails and propbaits. then fly back very late monday night and go back to work tuesday morning...

Taking Jason's advice and getting out there. Going to Kinkaid Lake Thursday thru Sunday, but have to make one day a panfish day going to have fun fishing with my great niece (4years old) and my great nephew (2 1/2 years old)hopefully I still remember how to bait a hook with nightcrawlers after 27 years of muskie fishing.[]

Take Ms.Slamr out to get her first muskie....or if she doesnt "feel" like fishing, I'll be then dragging her 3.5 hours so that she can eat a good breakfast (as slow as MOLASSES....do all women eat like then when burning fishing time?) and then whine and cry that 67 degrees is "like winter" and comment over and over again that "there are no fish in this lake".....someday that comment is going to get her in A LOT of trouble. In Canada she's a great little trooper, fishes all the time....but south of Int'l Falls she refuses to fish, and puts her fishing energy to work being a pain in the *ss!
*feeling better now.

Slam''r, my compatriot;
Women in general are not the same as men. I know you have noticed this, but somehow, we as men are always wide-eyed with surprise when confronted fully with that fact on the water or in the woods.

It is VERY hard to find a fishin'' woman, and harder yet to find a hunter....

Be satisfied you have located one that TOLERATES the fishing, and hope for the best. Flowers, dinner, and a bauble now and again never hurt, either. If one can spend $18 on a lure, flowers seem a paltry thing...

OR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>you can be single....like me....Jody, you watching this??

Im fishing with Jason, and I BETTER catch something. I am snakebit in tournaments this year, with 7 fished and NO legals caught. Last year I fished three and cashed in two...sheesh!! Keep losing, missing, and generally swearing at the muskies during tourney hours...But THIS weekend, I am fishing with the MASTER baiter, Jason.[]

I'm going to hit the Fox chain for the first time in over a month. Hopefully this weather brought some of the big girls in to feed (although at this point I will take a small male).

Let me know if anyone else is going to be out on the chain on Saturday.

Luck has been bad this year. Only 1 36"{?} hooked this year. My mom's heart surgery as kept me from fishing a lot. Me? I've got 2 cases of Coke for the PayDay eating contest that the Spongy One has planned. At the beginning of the year , my goal was a 40"er, not a real big goal but one that I thought was not out of reach. Let's hope the the Cave has one with my name on it and pray the I don't screw it up . But being on the water once again will be enought, eating PayDays and Jr. mints chased down be a ice cold coke as SpongeBob lands another and another and another.........................................[:p] [:)] [::)] [:knockout:]

I`m heading out to my land in Vernon County to do alot of bow hunting prep work this week and next. Then it`s back up to Vilas for four more days of muskie fishin' then back to the land for 16 days from the end of October thru the first couple weeks of Nov. Just in time for the big boys to be tearing up the ground and acting silly. Why can`t October and November last for half the year? So much to do and so little time.

Is Smokey's Tourney Saturday and Sunday or just Saturday? I was thinking about heading to Pewaukee on Sunday, but will head to another honey hole if I'm going to be battlin' 35 other boats. Anyone know?

Slamr,

Don''t think I can get out on Saturday. If you guys put it off until Sunday, I''ll join you on your lake. I plan on getting out there a few times before we get hard water, so I''ll definitely see you out there a few times. Oh, that''s if you''re not spoon feeding Mrs. Slamr chicken soup.(No offense, gena, but the guys been taking alot of cheap shots at me lately).

And thanks for the info on the tourney, Bill.

Leaving for LOTW Houseboat trip on Friday. Hope to be fishing by noon on Saturday, and every day for the next week. Planning on taking just a little time out for the ducks up there too. Will post upon my return.

Tight lines all.

Unfortunately...work. Again!

Hey, Anonymous User, I see you are headed to Redstone. I hope that you are talking about a different Redstone than I know. If you are talking about the Lake Redstone near Wisconsin Dells, save your gas. While it has some ski's it's definitely not worth a trip all the way down from where you are. If it's a different Redstone, I can't help you.

Enjoy the water you guys while I am out there working hard and protecting you in your travels.
