I got a couple of bucktails on clearance last fall for a few bucks a piece and finally got around to modifying them. The original colors are shown in the bottom picture and I tried to keep the color patterns similar to the originals. I think the feathers will really make it look alive under water

Nice, but make sure you allowed enough distance between the blades and the skirt. This will become evident if the blades do not rotate properly and hang up on the retrieve.

The feathers I used are pretty soft so they'll lay back a little when the retrieve is started. The bucktail that was on it was the same length but stiffer.
