Subject: Fixing a crooked rod tip?

I was wondering if I should heat the tip and turn it straight or take it off and glue it on again. What should I use for glue? Also wondering if I should just leave it be. Is it important that the tip is straight?

Thanks,
clm

There is a hot glue you can buy to reset it. Heat it, take it off, heat the glue, rub some on the rod tip and reset the tip in the right orientation.

Be careful when applying heat to the tip. Too much heat will ruin the tip of the rod.

How much is it out of line ? on my 2 piece rods the top half often, get a bit out of line when casting heavy baits, and i haven't noticed any difference in performance, so i don't even correct it any more during the day.

It is like an 1/8 of a turn from being straight. I will warm it slightly and straighten it. Thank you everyone.

Be VERY careful applying heat! You can ruin the tip very quickly- a second or two of too much heat and you're done. I would not advise doing this without taking the tip off and re-gluing it on. I use 5 min epoxy.
