Posts: 1220 | It's not that often I get blown away with a new thing, but the new green sticks St Croix Rods calls the Legend Elite will take your breath away. I watched yesterday at the Chicago Show as angler after angler picked up these sticks and were dumb-struck. You see there's a rod in your hand, but you simply don't feel a rod in your hand. It's like a ghost....there but not there! This is a real deal, a "game changer" maybe even game-over in the rod business. See this rod. I'll stake my entire reputation that you will say, "Wow!" Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | It pretty much is. This rod isn't like anything you have ever seen in a production rod. Folks who want the best of the best, and can afford to buy one, will. Those who can't afford one, won't until they can get one used.

Posts: 908 Location: South-Central PA | Just on display. In talking with Rich, there are VERY few of these in existence right now- like two of each. These are the finest factory rods I've ever seen. It's like holding a helium balloon in your hand. For me, the biggest thing that sets them apart (aside from the blank) is the use of the Fuji Torzite guides. These guides have extremely thin rings and they weigh next to nothing. If they end up not offering these blanks to custom builders, I'm buying a rod to strip and customize for myself- they are that good! Jeremy

Posts: 455 | I can afford to buy as many as I want but won`t be buying any. Mainly because I troll and would be a total waste. Not a bad price though. That's about what you pay for a good fly rod and could spend a lot more.

Posts: 358 | If Marty says Wow ! I believe it ! Although $ 550... REALLY !!! The last 4 St. Croix rods I bought were $300 each. Too much for me and I can afford it, however won't at that price.

The muskie industry is starting to catch on. Top tier fly rods, factory rods, start around $700-$800 a piece. The problem is once you start to use high-end stuff, it is hard to go to the cheaper models. Edited by BenR 1/11/2015 11:15 AM

Posts: 553 Location: deephaven mn | the legend elite series has been around along time (13 or 14 years) in saltwater, walleye and bass models and they were more money to purchase. sensitivity was the selling point because of the light weight. the selling point for muskie rods is endurance being able to fish for 14 hours because of lighter weight. they will sell. just don't mount a tranx on them, kind of offsets the feel in my opinion
