Hiya!!

Having owned an etec 150 for about 4 years now, I have to say I wish Bombardier never shut down their outboard program. The Etec, after it's debut back in....oh...2006 or so (if memory serves me correctly) got all the kinks and bugs worked out those first couple of years and they have been rock solid power-plants ever since.

kjgh might be correct in that parts years down the line might be hard to find, but that may be a ways away yet.....(tongue firmly in cheek here as I have not had to replace anything save plugs when I first purchased the rig I am in now).

The motor is really quiet at idle, starts on barely a turn of the key, is about a 5 minute total for winterizing, and very very smooth running. I would not hesitate to buy another at this point either. In the low oil use setting, the motor has no fumes, although I never minded the smell of 2 stroke exhaust for some reason...but that is me..

The integrated motor support is really nice as well... The trim motor is slower by design through the trim range, but once past high trim mark, it picks up for raising the motor out of the water.

The separate tank for filling oil is great and the fuel filter is easy to access and change.

Good motor!!

Steve
