If you can afford it Mercury makes the best performing engine, no doubt. But there's a reason they use mules instead of thoroughbreds to move stuff across mountain passes. That I feel is an apt comparison.
The HP being discussed is a 115, not a 350. I have a 60. Sips fuel, runs my 1625 dual console Lund Fury with two anglers at 30 MPH. Starts every time, planes the boat well with a tin 4 blade prop, and has plenty of low-end power. Must be a hybrid horse/mule. |
