To add to what Abu7000 mentioned, you have to do the Steve Heiting trick; and cut the tips off of the rod tubes in order to fit longer rods. Here is the link http://www.steveheiting.com/modify-your-rangers-rod-box/ I did it, and I can fit a couple rods up to 8'6" in the upper middle tubes. The rest will fit 8 footers.
