Hiya,

I do not have experience with the powertran series as well so I am unable to speak toward their use.

I would second, though, Bobs plates. I have a 6" hydraulic and love it!! As stated it is all integral and the only thing to do is run power to it and set your switch. I mounted my switch like a turn signal switch behind the steering wheel.
