I run a 72 on my 619 and have fished waves that pulled the prop out when deployed in the fully down position. A 60 would pull out that much quicker. Honestly having a 72 does no harm whatsoever, go longer you’ll not regret it. Go shorter and you will. Like beer, it’s better to have too much than not enough. Easy decision.


Disagree, 72” is a LOT of trolling motor in the way when not needed. Also remember when in shallow water there is that much more motor head sticking up which gets in the way while working gliders and twitch baits etc. I ran a 60” Ulterra on my 620 without any issue, and if the waves are big enough to pull the prop out of the water, I don’t want to fish in that crap anyway!
