Location: Iowa | I got into a 2017 this winter with a 250 verado pro. Just wondering what people are getting for performance out of there 620 and how they have it set up?
Just got back from opener and was little let down on performance mainly hole shot. So I got some tinkering to do. We had 4 adults and 3 kids in the boat with not much gear and no water in the livewell. We were getting close to capacity but in my mind it should still be capable. It seemed like an eternity to get on plane. A little worried about when I start getting a few musky boxes in there, along with more gear and 2 or 3 people is it going to do the same.
Looking at what I need to change - lower pitch/different prop, jackplate, trim tabs, hyrofoil, move the motor.....
Took the kids out bass fishing sunday afternoon and did pretty good, was happy.
What I got
Verado pro 250 (L6)
mounted in the middle hole
bravo 1 22p
9.9 kicker
58 mph at 6140-6180rpms.
Also was wondering if people have problems with water coming over the transom when coming off plane. And it isn't like i was coming off plan real fast either. It'll shoot up from between the transom and engine mount, then also seems like quite a bit is deflected off the shaft of the motor. So I dont know.... Seemed like the best way to get away from it was get about off plane and give it some throttle at the end or turn at the end.
