at walleye speeds like under 2 mph, i use the bow mount steer method. Its good to push slow in big wind, do it casting as well when really wanting to push into the wind to control speed.

muskie trolling i like to either steer kicker with tiller handle, and when i get lazy attach to the big motor / wheel. I have the best look at my electronics from there anyway
