Location: Mt. Zion, IL		I'm sure others will have varying opinions, but trolling with the trolling motor down is a lot of torque on the mount and wears out the pins/aluminum sideplates in a terrova. My preference is always to steer from the console or use the tiller handle. I would opt for the tie bar. I troll up to 6.5 mph and would not want my terrova in the water when contour trolling areas. It is a hassle. It also can't react as quickly as the wheel or tiller handle.
