Just tried the new Yak yesterday. Went to a small creek I had never been to before as I heard it holds a good sized muskie population. Usually fish the St-Lawrence but the wind was simply too much, especially for trying a new boat...

Performed really well and is plenty stable for casting Muskie sized lures and while I didnt catch any fish, I did end up setting the hook on loose logs and at no point did I feel I was losing balance, so Im not worried there.

I chose this boat because of the open platform, It's theorically a boat shaped paddle board with 3 accessories tracks running accross it. The seat that comes with it, which is basically secured by the middle track is very comfortable although the ability to stand up while fishing makes this somewhat of an incomplete review as far as that goes, I didnt spend more than 15-20 minutes sitting down during the outing...

I also used the very front tracks to mount a custom TM mount that I built of of PVC. Not so much for moving around but moreso for boat control and dealing with wind. This was a major success as it was just a breeze staying on spots and whatnot, if anything, the 30 was still a tad to fast even on low but I cant complain. I was standing up throwing big baits while following the break just having to slightly correct the TM every 4-5 casts.

The big downside here is 1) No peddle drive(which I dont really care since I've got it motored) and 2) Its naked.

Yes the Yk is full of tracks but it comes with a seat and a cup holder... If you're like me, you already own a bunch of scotty rod holders and other scotty shi_, but I didnt work with tracks before, so I needed a scotty head track adapter for all my already owned scotty essentials...

Seems like nothing but I found out the hard way they're 20-25$ a piece up in here. So that's something you have to keep in mind. There are no flushmount rod holders, no paddle holders, no nothing, its a blank slate.

I did find a way to build adapters out of PVC fittings on youtube, which I used to build the TM rack.
