You know, an old home remedy that works well for removing gasoline smell from hands ect. is to use some regular salt and water to scrub your hands in then rinse.

I'd certainly try wetting down your carpet and then sprinkling a liberal amount of salt on it. Let it sit only a few minutes then scrub it around some. Work it in WELL w/a scrub brush. Wet vac out and maybe dry vac. the remaining salt as it dries in a day or so...

I have a feeling this will work. ...??? Please let us know if it does.
