Without any dealers and selling only direct probably limits potential customers to guides and devoted customers living close.

Sounds like they have plenty of orders right now. Of course, one has to wonder what the future will be for any company that limited their sales to only direct. And, once they do that, how difficult is it to get dealers wanting to sell your product?
