I went from a Yamaha 4 stroke on my old boat to a 250 Etec on my new boat. Really wish I had a 4 stroke. Got a smoking deal on the boat with the E Tec so I didn’t have a choice.

Adding a $50 gallon of XD100 oil on almost every gas fill really sucks.

As much as the cost sucks. Remembering to add the oil sucks just as much.

Hiya!!

Quick question for you on that motor...is the oil mixture setting set for the minimum oil use with the XD100? If it is not, that would explain the heavy amount of oil use. I've got the 150 which obviously is smaller, but I use about a gallon of oil on a full week in Canada burning around 100 gallons.

Deals come out now and then on oil as well which would get you down to around $40 to $45 a gallon. the 3 gallon pack one time came up on Jet.com which sold at $35 a gallon. I doubt we'd see that kind of pricing today again, but it can happen here and there...
