| I know Mercury is hiring, trying to fill jobs. I lived in Fond du Lac before retiring and at the peak of the recession about 10 years ago, the average age of their production workers was about 55. They have more than doubled the size of work force since then but filling all the spots left by retiring baby boomers has to be a real challenge. They have been investing $10s of millions in plant and equipment over the last 7 or 8 years, trying to gain productivity and quality. But, they are not going to compromise quality to pump out more units. | |
